According to the Hungarian government, the official minimum wage in Hungary in 2025 is 290,800 Forints ($785) per month for unskilled workers (base rate) and 348,800 Forints ($940) per month for skilled workers. Compared to last year, the minimum wage in Hungary increased by 24,000 Forints or 10.4% – from 266,800 HUF to 290,800 HUF.

Average salary in Hungary

According to official data from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, the average wage in Hungary in 2025 is 668,100 forints per month, equivalent to 1,800 U.S. dollars at current exchange rates. After paying taxes, Hungarian workers have 459,000 forints ($1,235) at their disposal. Compared to the same period last year the average wage in Hungary has increased by 10.4%.

The average net gross net earnings of Hungarians amounted to HUF 444,300 excluding tax benefits and HUF 459,000 including tax benefits.
