HOW TO FIND A JOB IN ANGOLA

The Republic of Angola is located in the southern part of the African continent, washed by the Atlantic Ocean and bordered by Namibia, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. After years of civil war in early 2000s, the political situation in the country has stabilized, the economy is gradually developing, and the quality of life of local people, although slowly, is improving. Therefore, in some areas it is quite possible to work in Angola for foreigners in 2021.

Over 70% of government revenue and more than 90% of the country's exports come from the oil sector. It is in this area that jobs in Angola are mostly offered to job seekers from abroad. In addition, there are large deposits of diamonds on the territory of the state, the extraction and sale of which provides additional revenue to the budget. To be legally employed in Angola, you must find an employer in advance, sign a contract, and obtain a work visa. Similar to most countries in the world, jobs are given to foreigners if it is in the interest of the local economy and there are no candidates among Angolans. The visa is issued for 12 months or for the duration of the contract with the right of renewal. The responsibility for issuing a work permit to a foreigner and the preparation of documents for the local authorities lies with the employer.
