CORRUPTION IN COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD
Even the most developed countries with stable democracies cannot boast of political stability or complete absence of corruption or bureaucratic delays. Every country in the world is susceptible to corruption of various kinds.
The only difference is that in some countries taking and giving bribes is quite seldom, while in the other ones it's hard to imagine the governmental "machine" functioning without it at all.
Today there is no 100% reliable way to measure corruption in a particular country in order to make an objective rating. But one of the most authoritative methods of ranking countries according to this indicator is the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), calculated by Transparency International, a non-governmental international organization based in Germany.
Below, based on the current data of Transparency International, we will list the countries with the lowest and the highest level of corruption in 2024.

Note. The Corruption Perceptions Index has been calculated since 1995. It is based on expert assessments and opinion polls to determine how corrupt a country is. The CPI defines corruption as "the abuse of state power for personal gain." The report ranks 180 countries on a scale from 0 to 100. The lower the score, the more corrupt the country is considered.
